Jerry & Linda's Success Stories: Healthy Homes Initiative in Sampson County

Updated: Aug 4, 2020

“Jerry” and “Martha” live in Sampson county with their three children. Active mold infested the bathroom. The Healthy Homes Initiative Program treated and removed the mold; then made plumbing repairs to address the source of moisture and prevent the mold from returning. Jerry said, “everything is great. The mold is treated and I already feel healthier.”

Linda's Story

“Linda” and her two children had plumbing issues that were causing moisture damage in their home. Their hot water heater was also outside the home which made it energy inefficient and quick to deteriorate. The Healthy Homes Initiative fund fixed the plumbing issues and installed an “Aqua Box” to insulate and shelter the hot water heater. Linda is “so grateful that there are programs like this, as we could never have afforded this service. I give you a 10!”

We are grateful to have a sponsor like BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina who invests in our communities, and so proud to have Action Pathways as part of our network! We couldn’t do this important work without them and their dedicated staff!
