Income Qualified Weatherization Program Backed by Duke Energy

About the Program

The Duke Energy Income-Qualified Weatherization Program is a FREE comprehensive weatherization and energy efficiency upgrades program administered by the North Carolina Community Action Association (NCCAA). This program is designed to help income-eligible Duke Energy North and South Carolina customers lower their energy bills and improve the overall energy efficiency of their homes. The program is available to single-family homes and multifamily units, both owners and renters with owner approval. Eligibility of participation is determined by the weatherization office and an in-home assessment. In addition to the installation of energy-efficiency measures, customers also receive information on their home's energy use and strategies to reduce energy costs in the future.

What Improvements Might You Expect if You Qualify?
  • In-home energy assessment.

  • Sealing air leaks and ductwork

  • Installing insulation (of all types)

  • Replacing existing lighting with energy-efficient bulbs

  • HVAC system upgrades and replacements
