to the Department of Health and Human Services the sum of
one million dollars ($1,000,000) for the 2003-2004 fiscal
year to be allocated for the N.C. Weatherization Assistance
Program as detailed in H.B. 379, NCHHS, Section 10.1 (a).

Supports
Raising Revenue to Avoid Harmful Cuts to Human Service programs
Raise progressive taxes and end tax loopholes for corporations
Offset regressive tax hikes with a state Earned Income
Tax Credit
Work with our Congressional delegation to insist on
Federal assistance
Supports
all Affordable Housing issues and program funding ; maximize
the allocation of flood-relief funds for low income families
Reform
or abolish “payday” loans and all other forms
of predatory lending
Suspend
two-year time limits for Work First benefits
Preserve
funding for Medicaid, Health Choice and all other critical
programs for those in need

programs that will narrow the achievement gap and lead to
academic success for at-risk students; promote fair testing
